Gas Shipping & Trading Analyst
- Support the build-out and daily operation of Yuno Energy's All-Island Gas Desk, covering physical gas shipping from NBP to IBP/NIBP, day-ahead and within-day trading, GTMS, Gemini and Interconnector nominations, NDM/DM forecasting, balancing, prompt-position optimisation and commercial position monitoring.
- Built a Python and Streamlit capacity optimiser comparing Annual-only, Annual plus monthly, quarterly and alternative booking structures across customer-growth and weather scenarios; identified Annual plus monthly as the preferred strategy, with approximately €253k modelled benefit versus leaving winter capacity exposure on daily tariffs.
- Originated and led a two-intern machine-learning forecasting project, developing a five-day NDM demand forecast using point-in-time data controls, LightGBM modelling and validation against GNI nomination advice; supported SQL weather-data infrastructure for backtesting and future model retraining.
- Automated Gas Desk workflows using Python, SQL, VBA, Power Query, APIs and SFTP, including a GTMS SOAP API to dashboard forecasting pipeline and automated monthly trade-reconciliation and invoice-summary process, with approximately 216 hours of estimated annual analyst and reviewer effort saved across the two workflows.
- Built a Platts API-fed Monte Carlo LNG supply-demand model generating P10, P50 and P90 outcomes and undersupply and oversupply probabilities, alongside management-level analysis of European storage, LNG disruption, TTF/NBP dynamics and Winter 2026/27 risk.
- Developed scalable Gas Desk infrastructure and controls covering physical trading operations, annual capacity sign-off, Xoserve invoice validation, ETRM vendor assessment and process documentation; established the desk's Git and Azure DevOps repository and drafted practical Forward Trading AI-use guidance.
